By using the right credit cards on our normal purchases I was able to quickly build up enough points for 2 round-trip tickets to Rome, Italy and only paid the normal tax/fees, saving me over $2000 on the same flight if we would have used cash instead of points!!! I’m now working on 2 round trip Business-class tickets to Germany using just my points.
